Only 3 days after Coupe, the most prestigious junior rowing event in the world opened its doors; the Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo Bay is soon to be the site of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Regattas, and more recently was the site of the World Rowing Junior Championships 2019.
The year before the Olympic Games, the Olympic rowing venue is opened up to the World Rowing Junior Championships and the international athletes competing in it. 2019 is the time for Tokyo, Japan to make a lasting impression on these young athletes fighting for a podium position from the 7-11 August.

After finishing an impressive fourth amongst a tough field at the European Junior Championships in Gravelines, France earlier this year and with another year left in juniors, young Slovenian talent Ilaria Macchi looks to build to further success in her junior career and beyond.
