Without a doubt, here at AllMarkOne we've grown hugely across the board this year, not only in the size of our team but in the quality and breadth of our content. From covering mainly smaller races last season with the occasional attempt at a bigger event, we've taken photos at the majority of the highlights on the UK rowing calendar this year, from Sculler's Head to Head of the River through the head season and National Schools Regatta to Henley Royal Regatta in the regatta season. At National Schools, we not only covered our bases on the photography front, but with a brave handful of our team and the help of a few friends, filmed as many finals as we could in 4K which can be found on our YouTube channel.
We also took on our first attempt at coverage of the Boat Races, with our team attending nearly all of the trial eights and fixtures, as well as many of the training sessions in the buildup. We were proud to release this countdown video on the official Boat Races channel and have high hopes for our coverage of this exciting event next year.
But we decided that with so many talented photographers constantly striving to widen national rowing coverage already, we wanted to do something different, and took a bit of a punt at a fairly last-minute live stream of Women's Head, Men's Head and School's Head. Whilst a little rough round the edges, we were delighted to see viewers tuning in from as far as Australia, which really demonstrated to us the international nature of the rowing community.
Throughout this year, we've attended the three major trials events for the GB junior squad at both the winter trials venue in Boston and the National Water Sports centre in Nottingham, offering free photos to the many talented up and coming athletes competing on the junior circuit today.
Coming into the summer, the opportunity arose for us to be selected as official British Rowing media suppliers at the World Rowing Junior Championships, which will be held in Račice, Czech Republic from 8th to 12th August. This is the first event AllMarkOne will cover abroad and perhaps, barring only Henley Royal Regatta, the most prestigious.
We are taking three senior members of our team along with a couple friends on this adventure in a few weeks time, aiming to take both photo and video of as many athletes throughout the event as possible, as well as specific projects for commercial partners and of course the GB Rowing Team. Albeit a pretty big task, we hope to provide more coverage of the event than we've seen in the past and we'd like to take on the challenge.
We've touched on the achievements of the GB juniors so far this year at events like Munich International Regatta and the Junior European Championships and whilst there's no doubt our support lies with the British team, we want to provide this platform for the many capable athletes across the globe that will race them. So in the weeks leading up to Junior Worlds and the Coupe de la Jeunesse, we have lots of exciting content in the works, with articles and interviews with athletes from all over the world, from Switzerland to New Zealand (to name just a few).
As always, our social media will host regular updates on as many events as we can, with our infamous Instagram story takeovers at Coupe and Worlds, as well as the Home International Regatta this weekend. If you haven't already, head over to our Instagram and Twitter- both @allmarkone- to make sure you don't miss out on any of the action!
Any athletes competing in Račice- please feel free to get in touch with us about anything from articles to photo or video at the event via our social media platforms or online contact form, or simply leave a comment below.
