After finishing an impressive fourth amongst a tough field at the European Junior Championships in Gravelines, France earlier this year and with another year left in juniors, young Slovenian talent Ilaria Macchi looks to build to further success in her junior career and beyond.
We spoke to Oliver, Jacob, Adrian and Nicholas, this season's JM4x entry from Denmark at the Junior World Rowing Championships this summer about their path to selection and how their season has been going so far, including a difficult but hopeful result at the European Championships a few weeks ago.
We had a quick chat with Celia, Emma, Lisa and Jana, who have been selected to represent Switzerland- the reigning Junior World silver medallists in the JW4x- in this year's crew. They kindly spoke to us about all aspects of their rowing, from past experiences at Worlds in Rotterdam and Trakai to the inspiration that is Swiss JW1x World Champion Jeannine Gmelin!
Unlike many of the crews we see competing at Worlds, Ellie and Gill have been lucky to grow their partnership over the course of several years and come up through the levels. After a very impressive double-gold medal haul at last year's Coupe de la Jeunesse, they are now more than ready to take on the rest of the World at the Junior World Championships in Račice. Amongst a busy training schedule, they kindly took the time to answer a couple of questions!
